"Ten Years" - The history!

Not long after the band reformed around September 2007, we (Myself, Stan and Garf) decided that we would love to record a second album with T.N.T. The only thing stopping us at the time was the fact that we were looking for a second guitarist to add to the band, and didn't want to even start writing until the slot had been filled. Once Matt had joined us, I started writing the new material. Once the Song "Ten Years" had been written, the basis for the album was formed, and the rest of the songs kinda wrote themselves. "Ten Years", a look back, and a retrospective look forward from that time in history. It's been around Ten Years since T.N.T. first formed and a lot has happened to each of us (and the folks that listen to our music) in that time. The whole damn world is a very different place!

The process

The first album "The Truth Finds You" was recorded at RMB the studio in Horsehay, Telford, with good friend and brilliant engineer / guitarist H-Cain. This time, I run my own Mobile studio, Hart Studio, so we decided that rather than booking sessions somewhere else and feeling the pressure to perform to a strict schedule, we would record the whole album ourselves, both on location and at my studio. The drum parts being recorded in a large live music venue, to help give us a sense of live performance to the album.

Saturday 17th October 2009 - Just an update on the situation..........Don't give up hope, now the set has been updated, we'll be starting the recording SOON!

Monday 25th May 2009 - Not the best of starts really. The first recording session was a wash out due to technical problems at the venue we were using, but it's just as well we didn't get too far!!! We've decided to put the recording back a little to allow us some time to work on the live set, which needs some adjusting due to lack of recent rehearsals.

Saturday 9th May 2009 - Tomorrow we begin recording the first song (and title track) "Ten Years". The guys and myself have been working hard this week to really nail the arrangement, and I'm looking forward to getting the drums and bass guitar parts down, and back to the studio to start the task of laying down guitars, vocals and other parts. I think that this first song will shape the sound of the rest of the album so it's important that we get it right. To push things on I've even done a first draft of the albums artwork.
